Make the Hum Visible

A free field guide to help investigate a persistent low-frequency hum.

Start by checking whether the sound may come from inside or outside your home. If it appears external, use the seven-night observation log to document what you notice.

This guide has not been field-verified. We're looking for people willing to test it and report what works and what doesn't.

No specialized equipment required. Phone microphones may not detect very low frequencies. This guide does not establish sound-level measurements.
